Six Well-Liked Golf Point Games and Tips

If you’re looking for something to make your golf game more exciting and challenging, consider trying one of these well-liked point games. Especially while on the course with friends, these point games can make your golf experience more enjoyable and rewarding. Who doesn’t love a friendly (but competitive!) game?

  1. Skins – This game is an individual competition in which each hole is worth a set amount of points (or money). The player with the lowest score on each hole wins the point or money. If there is a tie, the point (or money) carries over to the next hole.

If you’re going to play this version of Skins, it’s important to remember that some holes may be worth more than others. You can decide ahead of time which holes are worth more and which are worth less

  1. Nassau – This game is based on three separate betting games that are played at the same time. The three games are front nine, back nine, and 18-hole total score. For example, you can bet on who will win the front nine, back nine, and 18-hole total score. Who will correctly predict all three?
  2. Bingo Bango Bongo – This game is quite unique, and it’s great for beginners as well as experienced golfers. Each player earns points for being the first to get onto the green, closest to the pin after one stroke, and finally being the first to get their ball into the hole. As you can see, this means that three points are up for grabs on each hole. The player with the most points after all 18 holes is the winner.

The good thing about this game is that even beginners can grab points – if you hit the green first, you get a point. Whether you’re from a Florida golf town or have never played before, you can have fun. If your putting needs some work, this is a good way to make games more competitive.

  1. Wolf – A fun and popular game, Wolf requires at least three players. The idea is that the ‘wolf’ chooses a partner to play against the other two players in the group (although four-player versions are also possible). The rule is that the wolf and their partner have to team up to beat the other two players. The twist is that the wolf is not allowed to discuss their partner’s play. If the wolf and their partner win, they both get two points.
  2. Scotch – Scotch requires four players in two teams of two. This game is based on the best aggregate score of the two teammates, and each team starts with a score of zero. The team with the lowest aggregate score at the end of the round wins two points, while the higher-scoring team gets one point. A tie results in each team receiving one point.
  3. Trouble – Lastly, there is Trouble. This game requires three players and everyone starts with zero points. Each player takes turns hitting their ball to try and get it closest to the hole. The person who does this receives one point, and the two players that do not get their ball closest to the hole lose a point. This game is played until someone gets a certain number of points.

Not only is this game fun, but it also improves your accuracy. With this game, you must be precise and consistent with each shot to stay ahead of your competitors. If you can keep up with the competition and get your ball closest to the hole, you can win each round and keep yourself in the lead.

Why not give one of these games a go today?
